This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his wife Elizabeth and their children. Dunckel tells his wife he's camped in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a little while longer and would like to recieve a furlow in order to see her one more time before the soldiers move to a different state. He also has seen several of his friends while in Michigan.
