This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his brother-in-law George H. Price. Dunckel describes his most recent march that lead him through the Elk River in Tennessee twice as well as steady rain. His regiment was out of rations and had very little to eat. However, Dunckel tells Price he had never had more fun in his life than on July 4.
